Biography
Banjoist and trumpeter Nathalie Renault is a prominent figure in traditional jazz. Immersed in New Orleans jazz from early childhood by her father, she built a rich artistic path, beginning with classical piano studies before dedicating herself to the banjo and trumpet.
Her talent has led her to collaborate with renowned names in traditional jazz, such as the "Sopranissimo" group featuring Marc Laferrière and Daniel Huck, and Jacky Milliet’s Quintet. A versatile artist, she has also explored various musical landscapes, ranging from street brass bands to comedic stage acts. A key member of the orchestra Certains L’Aiment Chaud since 1987, Nathalie Renault passionately balances her career as a musician with her work as a visual artist. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she remains active in the visual arts through exhibitions and drawing workshops.
