Laurent Vanhée

Born in 1974, Laurent Vanhee discovered music through his father, Patrick Vanhée, a jazz clarinetist and saxophonist. During his teenage years, attending a concert by double bassist Patricia Lebeugle inspired him to dedicate himself entirely to the instrument. He pursued his musical studies at the Limoges Conservatory, followed by the CNR and the Faculty of Musicology in Tours, earning a DEM degree in double bass alongside a bachelor's degree in musicology. Throughout his academic journey, he gradually shifted his focus from classical music to jazz.
