Biography

A multifaceted Swiss-Chilean artist, Lucien Caceres moves fluidly between improvised music and visual arts. Born and raised in Lausanne, he has made the guitar and his voice his primary instruments, exploring Gypsy jazz, swing, and French chanson with an authenticity shaped by his travels.
His photography career, which began at the "STRATES" agency and was refined through his studies at CEPV Vevey, has given him a keen eye for light and motion. Whether through reportage, portraits, or architectural photography, he strives to capture a unique artistic perspective in every moment.
In 2015, a journey to Chile marked a turning point in his life. Immersing himself in Latin American culture and training with renowned guitarists like Romane, Richard Manetti, and Sébastien Giniaux, he developed a unique musical voice. As a self-taught guitarist and passionate singer, he brings a deeply emotional touch to the classics of French chanson (Brel, Brassens, Trenet, Vian).
After moving to Paris in 2022 for an intensive dive into the Gypsy jazz scene alongside artists like Aurore Voilqué and Adrien Moignard, he continues to evolve. Today, between organizing regular jam sessions at the Café des Argiles in Vevey and developing new projects in composition and Balkan music, Lucien Caceres remains an artist deeply committed to improvisation and connection.
